• Obtained $24 million judgment in ICC arbitration on behalf of international telecom company against foreign government for improper termination of services contract.
• Advised East African provider of telecom products and services on issues relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
• Represented Russian investors in a case involving the breach of an options contract for the purchase of stock in a company doing business in the telecommunications and wireless industry in Europe and Russia.
• Represented Caribbean distributors of petroleum products in arbitration proceedings brought in France by a retailer alleging breach of contract.
• Advised a French multinational company on American jurisdictional issues relating to insurance contracts.
• Represented a Japanese corporation in litigation over a real estate transaction in Long Island City, New York.
• Represented European beneficiaries of a U.S. trust in Delaware Chancery Court in a dispute against a Swiss manager alleging mismanagement and conversion of the trust’s assets.
• Prosecuted a defamation case on behalf of an engineering company from the Caribbean in New York federal court.
• Represented Caribbean entrepreneurs in a dispute regarding the breach of a business loan agreement.
• Advised the French owner of Manhattan real estate in a case involving fraud and conversion of corporate assets by business partners.

Additionally, while working at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York, Mr. Madsen litigated multiple cases of international law. For example, he represented the Internal Revenue Service on one of the most important recent international tax shelter cases in the United States, including undertaking international discovery in France, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and other foreign jurisdictions. read more here
